Advanced Counseling and Play Therapy (ACPT) has added licensed clinical mental health counselor associate Hannah DeVany, LCMHCA, to its team.
According to a news release, DeVany has experience providing therapy to children and teens facing a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety, depression, OCD and mood disorders.
The release stated, "Hannah is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families navigate the challenges of mental health with compassion and evidence-based care."
She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in counseling from the University of South Carolina and received her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Wake Forest University, according to the release.
DeVany integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy techniques and family-focused interventions to support children and their families in achieving meaningful growth, the release stated.
Shawn Morton, ACPT founder and clinical director, stated in the release, "We are confident that Hannah will make a significant positive impact in the lives of her clients and their families."
Prior to joining ACPT, DeVany gained extensive experience as a care coordinator at Balanced Child Pediatric Therapy in Lumberton, New Jersey, and as part of the clinical team at Total Family Solutions in Voorhees, New Jersey.
“I believe every child has a unique voice and story. My goal is to help them feel heard, understood, and empowered in their journey toward healing,” DeVany stated in the release. “I value creating a safe and supportive space where young clients can explore their emotions, build coping skills, and develop a stronger sense of self.”
